Denise reminds us that we should watch our attitudes in the coming days when the churches are full of parishioners who attend only a few times a year.
Being in the choir, I'm not usually in a position to greet, share hymnals, or welcome these parishioners and visitors. However, I have noticed that often, those unfamiliar faces are the ones who venture over to the choir as we are cleaning up the music stands and putting away the hymnals, and compliment us.
If you are a choir member, lector, altar server, extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, greeter or usher, make sure you go that extra mile this Christmas. Be reverent, be enthusiastic, be welcoming.
And if you're sitting in a pew, slide over and make room for just one more. You'd slide over if Jesus wanted to sit next to you....
