First Grade

Last night there were 8 children in my house. I've got to hand it to Danielle. It was exhausting! But once the two teenage boys went off to Boy Scouts, things settled down nicely. The two ten-year-olds got busy playing a game, and the four younger ones (two girls of 6, Little Brother, and a girl of 2) began the very serious business of Playing School under the capable direction of Back-Door Neighbor Girl (age 6).

Soon the two bigger ones looked in to investigate what the younger ones were up to. Back-Door Neighbor Girl informed them, "We're playing school. I teach first grade!"

Boy Next Door replied: "You're IN first grade!"
